10 Ways To Increase Your Business
By Steve Hurst | August 17, 2009
Every business that I know is always trying to increase their business…especially in today’s economy. Here are 10 ways to increase your business.
- Send out Thank You cards and/or letters. (Studies show that “if you contact 100% of your customers within 10 to 20 days after buying their initial purchase, 10% to 25% will buy something else from you on the spot”)
- Use telemarketing. (Tests have proven that “telemarketing following any mailing enhances total results by 300% to 1000% — 3 to 10 times more sales results if you follow up by phone after mailing a letter”).
- Do a monthly newsletter. First send to customers that have just bought within the month and expand each month to include old customers.
- Do promotions and have them change periodically. Make them exciting and make the customers want to check out what’s happening this week/month. Have “sign up” and win promos.
- Do up selling. (Tests show that “30% to 40% of the customers your offer it to will say ‘yes’”).
- Offer something to customers who recommend others to us. Come up with some kind of promo.
- Make business cards an advertisement. Use the back. All employees should have business cards. Encourage promos for getting the most customers in store.
- Offer free information. Have reports, booklets, pamphlets, that can be given to customers.
- Contact old customers that haven’t bought in a while. Give them a reason to try your business again.
- Get a Web site up and running. If you already have one, make sure you’re testing specials and promotions.
To Your Success,
Steve
