Is It Time For A Change?

The only thing that is constant is change. I’m sure you’ve heard or read that statement at some point in your life. As humans, many of us fight change. We get into our set routines that feels comfortable and keep doing what we’ve always done.
One of the things I’ve written about in the past and also talk with my coaching clients is the importance of having a “system”…a way or routine of doing what you do in your business.
However, your system needs to be flexible and at times…totally changed around or re-done. I bring this up because at this time, I’m having to redo or “change” my system…my way of doing things. And you might need too, also.
You need to look at the way you’re doing things and ask these questions:
- Am I still getting the results I want with what I’m doing?
- Am I losing business with my current system?
- Am I getting more business than I can handle with my current system?
- Am I doing what I’m doing because there is a reason….OR…because that’s the way it’s always been done?
And your answers may be a combination of the above. For example, in my case my business is changing (for the good), I’m getting more business and what I’m doing is not getting the results I want…so, it’s time to revamp what I’m doing.
Take time to analyze your business and honestly ask yourself…..is it time for a change?
Think about it.

I seem to revamp about every 10 years, applying to new interests that learned from old interests: in the 1950’s as a kid ventriloquist; in the 1960’s writing songs; in the 1970’s starting a family; in the 1980’s making artificial fishing lures, and, of course, with advent of personal computer writing a simple computer program to handle all the law cases and points collected on index cards transferred over to a hard drive to help me in lawyering for a living. Come turn of the century I am back to square one so to speak. It occurs to me all interests seem to overlap; for example, every fisherman is a puppeteer, and every fishing lure is a puppet on a string, with the puppeteer imparting life to an inanimate object to catch fish, so I don’t downplay the importance of puppetry in our culture. Others before me have said that ventriloquy could be used as a form of speech therapy, and I repeat that, and perhaps someday MD and stroke victims, stutterers and others with speech problems will be aided by vent to talk through frozen lips and jaws. I will focus on this goal for awhile.
