Is Your Business Struggling?
By Steve Hurst | June 12, 2009
Today’s blog may be slightly different than those I’ve written in the past. In fact…I’m going to be brutally honest to you that might make you feel very uncomfortable. However, one way to look at this is imagine me as the “stern but loving parent.”
Is your business struggling? Is business bad?
If you answered yes…What are the five things you’ve done most recently to follow-up on past customers? What are you doing to maintain a relationship with your past customers?
Think about it.
If you think about this long and hard it might be unpleasant and an eye opening experience all in one.
We can blame the economy, our competitors and many other factors for bad business, but the truth of the matter is….we only have ourselves to blame.
I had one of my coaching clients say that they weren’t concerned about past customers….only wanted new customers. This person’s business is suffering badly right now…..I’m sure you can see why.
Here’s another question to ask yourself…. What are the five books you’ve obtained and studied most recently to somehow improve your lot in life? ….to acquire new skills, to make yourself more valuable, to find opportunity?
More than ever, right now is the perfect time to invest in you. I mean let’s face it….all the other investments out there are not doing so well in this economy. Investing in yourself and your business makes all the sense in the world. You’ll get a much better return on your dollar than anything else.
Take time to think about these questions. Don’t just pass them off as no big deal. If you’re serious about yourself and your business, then these are two very though provoking questions.
And, the good news is…it’s not too late to turn everything around.
To Your Success,
Steve
